The Situation Room

I like to read, and recently, I’ve been intrigued by nonfiction and thrillers. I know it seems like a weird combination, but I am a complex person, so go with it. I wake up each morning and watch Good Morning America, so I hear about books every single day. When I heard that George had written a book that documented the ‘Situation Room’ since its inception, I thought, how interesting! I’d love to hear about its history.

I won’t call myself a history buff, but I do enjoy learning about things that I didn’t know about, especially when it comes to my country and it’s security. Maybe it’s because of the 20 years I spent in the military. I’m not a military buff either. I’m one of those people who hang out on the fringe of it all honestly and I call myself a humanist first.  Again, I’m a complex person so go with it.

I found myself unable to put this book down and read it in about five days, which is not the norm for me since my ADHD tends to take over and push me in 30,000 different directions.  Here’s my book review, which you can find on The Authors Porch website, GoodReads, and Amazon.  I hope you enjoy along with will check out this book.

C.J. Lopez‘s review

May 31, 2024

Since I opened this book, Mr. Lopez has come in and asked me, “What’s the Situation?” I can’t put it down. It’s fascinating, hilarious in parts, devastating in others, and eye-opening throughout. The things you learn about your nation, its leaders, and the moments that shaped history are incredible!

This book taught me more about our government during national crises than many other sources. It sparked my interest in learning about issues that impact our daily lives. Having watched George on Good Morning America for years, I had no idea how deeply intertwined his work has been with significant events. I’m now quite intrigued to continue learning and will be diving deeper into the heart of American politics, history, and the minds of great Americans like George Stephanopoulos.
